Why We Were Founded
Medicine Shoppe franchise owners share something important: they have made significant investments in their communities, their businesses, and in a brand that promises a certain standard of partnership. Yet for too long, many owners have felt that their voices were not adequately represented in conversations that directly affect their livelihoods.
The Canadian Pharmacy Franchise Owners' Association was founded to change that. Incorporated in Ontario on February 26, 2026, CPFOA is a not-for-profit organization created by franchisees, for franchisees. We are entirely independent of Medicine Shoppe Canada Corporation and answer only to our Members.
Our purpose is straightforward: to ensure that every Medicine Shoppe franchise owner has access to the information, advocacy, and collective power needed to protect their investment and operate in a fair, transparent franchise relationship.
